Spotlight: Newton Filmmakers

September 26 @ 9:00 pm - September 29 @ 10:00 pm

Greater Boston is home to an extraordinary film community, with a particularly renowned history in independent documentary.

Spotlight Newton: Filmmakers showcases films (mostly documentary with a few narrative shorts) by some of Boston’s best, who also happen to live or have lived in Newton. All film screenings donated by participating filmmakers with funds to benefit the West Newton Cinema Foundation.

Newton is a vibrant, creative city, and Spotlight: Newton Filmmakers aims to highlight the cinematic works— from experimental fiction to hard-hitting documentaries— produced by those in our community.

During this multi-day event from September 26-29th, West Newton Cinema will show features and short films by filmmakers from or living in Newton. After each screening, the filmmakers, producers, or subjects of each film will speak about their work and be open for a Q&A!

On Saturday evening, the Cinema will host a reception with light eats and a cash bar. Come to gather together and enjoy interesting conversation!

On our Eventbrite page, you can purchase:
-Tickets for individual films ($15)
-Day Passes for all films on a given day ($25); Saturday pass includes Reception ($40)
